A Quite Place - Thoughts

A quite place was a unique take of the typical horror type genre films that we are used to seeing. Throughout the entire film the amount of dialogue was extremely minimal as the film relied on the performances of the actors to deliver the emotion and message to the viewer. The reason our lecturer took us to this film is to show us how we do not need to feed everything to our viewers when making our own films. We can subtle hints and let the audience figure out the rest without having to spoon feed them everything. We had no real backstory on any of the characters in A Quite Place and yet we were completely intrigued with each and every one of them, because we didn't really need a backstory that did not have to do anything with the current plot that we were watching and that is something I learnt while watching that film. We were introduced to a loving family whom had to do whatever it took to not make any noises so that the creatures living their did not come out of hiding and kill anyone in their path.
