Week 7

For this week, we had our guest lecturer Fred come in to teach us. His classes were unique in terms of his teaching methods. In an attempt to help build trust between certain people in class as well as have more open relationships between each other, Fred would have us all sit in a circle together and we would practice activities such as counting up to 20, however should anyone over speak the other, we would have to go back to 1. It took us a while before we could reach 20 however once we put enough focus and looked at each other while counting, we were able to reach 20. From that we understood that we can’t get anywhere without the right focus, and we definitely cannot be successful in our goal to succeed. We also did another exercise where two people would sit in the middle of a circle and say one positive and one negative thing about the other, which in return helped us understand what certain people expect from us and how we can improve. We also managed to get the location permit for our film which was a huge step In having all our pre production work done, especially considering we are planning on shooting only at one location. We are now planning to hold audition next week for the roles of our main character, his ex girlfriend, as well as the super natural being that gets involved in the plot line. We held our castings for ‘Denied’ where several actors and actresses were interested in the roles of Aurther, his mother, and Athena. I was not a part of the castings however George, and Gabriel, how director and producer were present and helping pick the roles. We decided to go with a first time actor for the main role based on the potential that our director George saw in him. We also managed to have canon sponsor our film and provide us with the equipment needed to achieve maximum cinematic results.
